We use it to sprinkle salt on icy stairs. It's ideal. The different hole size allows for a bit of rate control and it closes down for easy storage.

The hand shaker spreader works great for spreading ice melt. It makes it so much easier then using a plain container. The container lid has different sizes to allow larger ice melt thru or you can spin it so it's closed.

Our driveway gets slippery, because our driveway is on a hill, and this dispenser allows me to shake the salt evenly so I do not have to work very hard to cover it. Was a big problem before.

I use this to spread salt on the front steps and the driveway before and after snowfall. Much better than using a flimsy plastic measuring cup. Also saves trips back & forth to the salt can b/c it holds more than 4 cups of rock salt, whereas the measuring cup only held about 2 cups at a time. Product is made very well, nice and sturdy. I definitely recommend it.

I love this shaker. Have only used a couple times; but, I find it so easy to spread the ice melt crystals with this shaker. I tried using my battery powered fertilizer/seed spreader but it clogged up so badly each time that it was not worth the effort when i had to dismantle to wash it with each use. This shaker holds a lot of ice melt, it's easy to fill with a wide opening, and after figuring out where to align the top and bottom it easy to replace the lid. It does get heavy when full but I am 71 and have RA so if I can use it anyone can. Thanks for a great product!
